Lingaa is an upcoming Tamil film produced by Rockline Venkatesh under his production banner, Rockline Entertainments. The film was scripted and directed by K. S. Ravikumar and co-scripted by Pon Kumaran, who also wrote the film's dialogues. The film stars Rajinikanth, Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha leading an ensemble cast that includes Santhanam, Karunakaran, Jagapati Babu and Dev Gill. The soundtrack album and background score for the film was composed by A. R. Rahman.[1][2] Cinematography was handled by R. Rathnavelu. Art direction was done by Sabu Cyril.

Principal photography commenced on 1 May 2014 in Mysore. Majority of the filming took place in Ramoji Film City. The climax portions were canned in Shimoga. The film is scheduled for a release on 12 December 2014, which also happened to be Rajinikanth's birthday.
